GINA QUINN

First Aid, CPR and AED certified
• Spinning and Aerobics Instructor
• Certified Personal Trainer
• Sweat Manager
• Sweat Success Story

Gina was born and raised in Northern New Jersey and moved to Anthem in October 2003. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing from Montclair State College. Gina bounced around for a few years working for Corporate America, a family business and then owning her own business.

Gina is blessed with two daughters, that keep her on her toes and make her proud to be their mom. A few years ago, realizing her own mortality, Gina decided it was time to pay closer attention to her health and joined the “Sweat Family,” as a client. She was surprised by the intense training and inspired by the support everyone gave each other. She also enjoyed the playful banter that seems to be an unspoken requirement at Sweat between trainer and client. She quickly became a fan. Although the program was tough, Gina found herself looking forward to seeing how far she could push herself at each session. Taking a bigger interest in health and fitness, Gina decided to take some courses to see if it might be something she could make a career of.

Gina has been a part of the Sweat team since 2007 and is a Sweat Manager and Personal Trainer. She also does sales and bookkeeping for Sweat. Her goal is to help clients realize their potential when it comes to their health and ideal body weights. She really enjoys seeing people’s transformations, not only in body composition, but in confidence, energy level and the sense of pride that comes with hard work and a job well done.

“I feel lucky to be a part of Sweat. It has given me the opportunity to meet incredible people and see them do incredible things.”

TERRI HAY

Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor
• Certified in 1st Aid and CPR
• Sweat Success Story

“I am mother of 3 kids, one in college, high school and junior high and married to Craig for 20+ years. Craig and I met in college and were married shortly after I graduated from Northern Arizona University…wow what a long time ago. We have lots of great memories and I am blessed with such a dear family. We have lived Anthem since 2003 really enjoy living here. We are members of Grace North Church and both serve on leadership as well.

SWEAT: I work here and I work out here. I was a client before I became a trainer. SWEAT is committed to motivating, inspiring and offering a disciplined program of fitness. I feel very fortunate to be part of this program.

Being a client: when I come to work out, I am ready to give my best. The people around me are there to do the same. From the minute your training session starts you are expected to give a diligent effort. About half way through you sometimes wonder…why did I sign up for this? But, when your training hour is over…there are smiles and looks of relief and the feeling of accomplishment. There is usually a bit of joking we all need a comic relief at that point. You meet lots of people who push and inspire you and are in the trenches like you….working towards a fitness goal and improving their health.

I am pushed and challenged by a program the sees me at a fitness level beyond where I see myself. Why do they do that…the owners have designed a program that gets results, and they expect results. The entire staff is determined to help you get results. Why not treat a client with expectation-yes it’s demanding. But since I don’t have any time to waste and I bet you don’t either, I encourage you to put your effort in a program that works.

Becoming a Trainer has been an incredibly rewarding decision for me. When I was first asked to consider working at SWEAT, I was not sure about it. The studying and certification was a challenge in my busy schedule. The other challenge was offering the intensity and motivation to our clients. Could I do it? I have found that I love working with our clients, young, old and everyone in between. I have heard so many of them say, “I didn’t think I could do it” whether it’s completing a set, finishing a training session or losing a certain amount of weight, but when they do, there is a feeling of accomplishment. Fitness is one aspect of a healthy lifestyle and I love to encourage and to be part of positive change in someone’s life.

Why am I a trainer and why do I work out at SWEAT? Because SWEAT works!”

CARLA SCULLY

  • IFPA Certified Personal Trainer
  • 1ST Aid and CPR Certified
  • IFPA Certified Personal Trainer
  • Sweat Success Story
  • NPC Figure Master’s Division – 1st Place

Carla has been married for 20+ years to her high school sweetheart, Mike.  They have a 19 year old son starting his third year of college and a 15 year old daughter who attends BCHS and is a member of the Varsity Cheer team.  They have lived in Anthem since August of 2001 and love the community.  Carla received her Bachelor’s Degree from ASU in Broadcast Communications, and later received her Master’s degree from NAU in Educational Leadership.  She was with Maricopa County for 12 years as an Adult Probation Officer.  Leaving in 2001, she was able to focus on being a stay at home mom always involved with her children’s’ school and sporting activities, in addition to her church, St. Rose.  She is currently the Vice President of the BCHS Spiritline Booster Club.

In October of 2007, Carla made that fateful phone call to Laura Rogers inquiring about Sweat.  Since then, she has competed in two toning challenges, continued to work out as a personal training client, and participated in her first NPC figure show in March of 2010.  She placed 1st in the Master’s Division.

Carla says that the experience was an unforgettable one.  I’ve always loved working out at Sweat because it provides the motivation, energy and camaraderie that I thrive on.  There is nothing like it in Anthem or the North Valley!  It’s like a family; everyone is friendly and support comes not only from the trainers but also the fellow clients.  That is what encouraged Carla to become a trainer at Sweat.  She respects Josh and Laura and what they do, and wants to spread that enthusiasm and success to clients as well.  She especially likes working with her 23Club members supporting and encouraging them throughout the weight loss and toning challenges.  There’s nothing like seeing people make progress.  I love it when my clients step on the scale and high five me because they have stuck to their diet and training schedule, and lost weight as a result of their hard work.  It’s very rewarding!  I have made many friendships at Sweat, first as a client and now as a trainer.  I believe in the results driven approach that is the theme at Sweat.  You are pushed beyond what you believe your capabilities to be, and that’s what makes Sweat unique!
