In 1995, she helped lead the GA All-stars to their first national championship! She competed against over 300 individuals her senior year and placed 3rd in the country on an individual performance, which she choreographed. She also competed in co-ed partner stunting and placed 2nd with her partner. Laura was also the captain of her high school team. They won state her sophomore year. Laura was a 5 time NCA All-American and 2 time UCA All-American. It did not take long before Laura was HOOKED! Even though she was involved in many sports, Laura focused all her extra time in training for cheerleading to get a college scholarship and continue cheering at the next level.

Laura cheered for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks all four years. She won many awards while on the team, including MVP cheerleader. The USC team won 8th place at UCA college nationals in Orlando, FL while she was there. During college and after, Laura turned her passion into a full time career and became an instructor, Head Instructor and Camp Manager for the National Cheerleaders Association, in which she was active for 9 years. She traveled all over the United States training and instructing cheerleaders and their coaches. Laura has coached and choreographed nationally ranked squads reaching the top peak of her career in competitive cheerleading.

Laura is no stranger to motivating large crowds having served as the master of ceremonies for the 2000 season, leading crowds of more than 80,000 fans at home games and was known as the “mic girl.”

It was Laura’s dream to always do what she loved to do and then, it wouldn’t seem like “work.” Fortunately, she was offered a sales job in West Palm Beach, FL to sell cheerleading uniforms to schools and it was the perfect job for her, given her background. After getting married in 2003, she and her husband, Josh, moved to Anthem, AZ to start their life.

Josh and Laura opened up a fitness gym, Sweat in 2005. Fitness and sports have played a huge role in both of their lives. Laura is an IFPA certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor and certified in nutrition and a SweatFIT coach. She is a figure and bikini coach and loves to help women transition into feeling amazing and beautiful! Coach Laura’s history and passion will always remain in the cheer industry and it has always been a dream of Laura’s to open a cheer program and she feels N. Phoenix needs one badly!

“I know the incredible impact cheer had on my life. It kept me grounded, optimistic, goal-driven, taught me leadership, confidence, teamwork, what it takes to be a role-model and so much more. I love nothing more than to help other kids develop all those characteristics. There is something about cheer that just brings so much joy to a room and gives kids a lot to look forward to. I’m so excited to teach and help build each cheerleader I get to work with!”
